Shot for Rapha

The Rapha Prestige Santa Barbara was a day of sweat, blood, dirt, snacks, and the deep bond of doing something hard together. A sense of adventure was in the air from the moment the riders broke through the clouds on their ascent of Gibraltar, to when they cruised down the mountains in the dark back to Handlebar Coffee. In between were miles upon miles and feet upon feet of grueling joyful dirt, which lit up each of their faces when asked how the day was going. Photographing portraits during such an event gave me insight to the places we go within ourselves when faced with the unknown, and to the love and respect this community has for each other and the sport.
